L’Inter centra la qualificazione e punta in alto

Alla fine dei 90 minuti di gioco di Inter-Empoli i tifosi nerazzurri hanno tirato un bel sospiro di sollievo. La qualificazione in Champions League per il prossimo anno è stata centrata e non con poche difficoltà. La strada sembrava abbastanza spianata a metà campionato. Sfumata la possibilità di giocarsi lo scudetto con una Juve e un Napoli più forti era rimasto solo l’obiettivo del terzo posto.
L’Europa League per quanto difficile non preoccupava tanto i pensieri di Spalletti. Il tecnico toscano ha iniziato a non avere un controllo solido della squadra dal periodo di ripresa del campionato dopo la sosta. I risultati hanno iniziato a mancare e le avversarie per il posto Champions a crescere. Si è arrivati fino all’ultima giornata con la partita in casa contro un Empoli in lotta per la salvezza. L’Inter trova il gol del vantaggio con una bella azione di Keita Balde che al minuto 51 mette in rete un diagonale dal limite dell’area di rigore. Il gol da quella vitalità all’Inter che però non riesce a chiudere il match e a metterlo al sicuro. L’Empoli a questo punto si fa avanti con più energia e riesce a trovare il gol del pareggio che significherebbe salvezza. I nerazzurri non ci stanno e con le ultime forze riescono a trovare il gol del 2-1 che chiude definitivamente il discorso.
L’Empoli retrocede in serie B e l’Inter si gode per il secondo anno consecutivo la qualificazione alla coppa più importante d’Europa. Spalletti intanto traballa sulla panchine nerazzurra ed un futuro lontano da Milano si fa sempre più inesorabile.
